What does the parts of the Iraq flag symbolizes?

The Iraqi flag contains three horizontal stripes. The band colours are derived from the Arab Liberation Flag. The black represents their oppression, the red, their struggle against repression and the white indicates a brighter future. The green script written on the white band in Arabic script says Takbir, meaning "God is great".
