Other plants similar to Aloe are Haworthia, and some of these turn red in response to stress - the most common is Haworthia attenuata, or Haworthia fasciata, also known as the Zebra plant for it's striped appearance. Although Haworthia look similar to Aloe, they don't appreciate as much heat and bright light, which makes them turn red. Put your plant in a slightly shaded area, especially avoiding hot afternoon sun, and it will return to normal within a week or so.
