What is a good recipe for catfish bait?

While the best catfish bait is something natural to the area (I.E. worms dug from the ground nearby, grasshoppers, and perch from the water itself.) Making your own bait is always an option. My dad used strawberry pop and wheaties mixed together into dough balls I've found rotten wheat grain to be the best natural stink bait. I worked at a grain elevator loading barges and the port specifically around our dock was loaded with catfish. An old man turned me on to it and its the best artificial bait I've ever tried out of about 100 different tips.
