CVS Pharmacy was founded by Stanley Goldstein, Sidney Goldstein, and Ralph Hoagland in 1963. The original concept was to create a store that combined a pharmacy with a health and beauty aid store, which was innovative at the time. The first store was opened in Lowell, Massachusetts, and CVS has since grown into one of the largest pharmacy chains in the United States.
