What is the value of a 1968 steel US cent?

Steel cents were only minted in 1943 as a way to save copper for the war effort. If your coin is silver-colored it has been plated and is only worth 1¢.

All 1968 cents were struck in bronze - 95% copper and 5% tin/zinc. Remember, if it were made of steel it would stick to a magnet, but bronze isn't magnetic.
