Of course not. Water is just plain old water. While water is certainly required for plants, you can get much better reuslts using something that is water-based, but has added nutrients. I have had the best luck with vinnegar and milk mixed together. The vinnegar's mild acidity helps keep the plant's roots clean, while the milk provides valuable calcium and magnesium. Gatorade is also really good (but too expensive for me) because it has alot of electrolytes.
