Are pit bulls safe for kids?

Actually pit bulls where bred in England and where origionally family dogs. They are major childrens dogs. You have to give them alot of love and affection to have them show it. I believe that it is incredibly stupid for people to be terrified of them. My step mom owns one and loves it and the dog doesnt act aggresive at all, it loves children and just likes to play alot. See they were called the nanny dogs because back in England before they came here to be used as farm and fighting dogs they were family dogs. Pit bulls tend to get attached to children and men more than adults and women in general. The thing is to makes sure that the pit is ok with the family you should train it so you klnow as a fact that it will listen. It might be a good idea too, to also look them up and learn mor than i might know before getting one. Its another important thing to know that they do NOT have the "locking jaw" that people talk about. It has been tested many times and turned out as a rumor. It is scientifically impossible for any dog to do that, it is simply because of how strong the dog is compared to the human, it takes more to pry it open. Overall pit bulls are great family and children dogs.
