Why were inventions created?

People invent things because they have an idea or a solution to a problem. Even apes invent. They will use a stick to get ants out of the ant hill. This is a tool and inventive thinking. Without inventions there wouldn't be the simple things like screws or gears and wheels or more complicated things like cars and computers.
