What is the first thing you say in a debate speech?

If you are going to be in a debate that is of a religious nature the best opening statment to use is Romans 10 verse 17 and 2 timothy chapter 3 verse 16

but if you are not then you would start with these things:

1. an opening statement is usually a sumery of the case. so make sure you state the facts.

2. Always good to start with quotes.

3. make it exciting!! no one wants to hear a boring statement.
