Who is the President of Turkey?

Abdullah Gül is the President of Turkey. He became the 11th President of Turkey on August 28, 2007, making him the first Muslim president of modern Turkey. He was also the Prime Minister of Turkey from 2002 November 18 to 2003 March 14.

It is important to note that the President in Turkey is merely a figurehead. The Prime Minister (currently Recep Tayyip Erdogan) holds real power.
