Inuit is a language, and might also be a tribe.

Answer:

The Inuit language may be called Inuvialuktun, but there are three distinct and dialects:

  • Kangiryuarmiutun: spoken in western Nunavut.
  • Siglitun: spoken in the communities of Paulatuk, Sachs Harbour and Tuktoyaktuk.
  • Uummarmiutun: spoken in the communities of Inuvik and Aklavik. This dialect is similar to Inupiatun spoken in Alaska.
