HP began in a garage in Palo Alto, California, United States. After Disney bought a large batch of HP's first product (the first stabilized variable audio oscillator) for doing sound effects on the movie Fantasia, they were able to move their offices and production facilities to a building on San Antonio Road in Palo Alto.
