Is a bass considered a bass guitar?

what do you mean? like if someone says " I play a strat guitar " and another says "I play bass" then yes bass is a Bass Guitar. Any instrament can have a bass. like Viola is like an alto to the violin and a bass is the giant cello looking thing. (haha) and a piccolo is like the soprano to the Flute. I play flute and bass (guitar).
