At least 78,051 same-sex couples have been legally married in Europe, although the number is probably much larger.

This is a summary of the only available statistics I have been able to find:

  1. Spain - 27,357 (as of 12/31/12);
  2. Netherlands - 20,219 (as of 12/31/12);
  3. Belgium - 17,000 (as of 8/11);
  4. France - 7,000 (as of 12/31/2013);
  5. Sweden - at least 1,668 (as of 5/1/11);
  6. United Kingdom - at least 1,916 (as of 1/27/15);
  7. Norway - at least 1,315 (as of 12/31/2013);
  8. Portugal - 914 (as of 12/31/12);
  9. Denmark - 631 (as of 12/31/13); and,
  10. Iceland - 31 (as of 12/31/2011 - including the prime minister of the country).
