How do you arrange Hindi words in alphabetical order?

While arranging Hindi Words in Alphabetical order, all the Words starting with swar (स्वर ) will come first in order i.e. अ आ इ ई .......अं अ :

Next take the vyanjan ( व्यंजन ) order i.e. क ख ग ......... त्र ज्ञ

Select all the Words starting with क and arrange them in the order of बारहखड़ी i.e. क का कि की ..... कं कः

Next go to Words stating with ख and repeat the ordering with respect to the बारहखड़ी

Once you have segregated the Words, again follow the same procedure for the second letter of the Word to arrange when you have the same first letter. Follow for all letters.

For e.g.

गमला हाथी मुर्गा मौसी अमरुद ऐनक टमाटर हमला टब

First arranging with respect to first letter without taking the maatra ( मात्रा ) into consideration

अमरुद ऐनक गमला टमाटर टब मुर्गा मौसी हाथी हमला

with maatra

अमरुद ऐनक गमला टमाटर टब मुर्गा मौसी हमला हाथी

Next arrange with respect to the second letter

अमरुद ऐनक गमला टब टमाटर मुर्गा मौसी हमला हाथी
