How many people died in the civil war for each side?

During the American Civil War (1861-1865), it is estimated that approximately 620,000 to 750,000 soldiers died. The Union (the Northern states) suffered around 360,000 deaths, while the Confederacy (the Southern states) experienced about 260,000 to 300,000 fatalities.
