How much does it cost to renew a U.S. passport?

The cost varies, depending on the applicant's age, whether he or she wants a passport card in addition to the standard book, and whether he or she is renewing in person or by mail.

Passport Book (under 16).....Can not apply by mail, must apply in person with parents

You can only apply by mail if you meet all of the following conditions:

# Is undamaged and can be submitted with your application # Was issued when you were age 16 or older # Was issued within the last 15 years # Was issued in your current name or you can legally document your name change When applying for a renewal, you must provide the U.S. State Department with two current pictures.
