Can English police chase cars into Scotland?

An English officer can continue a chase into Scotland. Police forces don't tend to cross their region's borders if they can help it, however they will if there are no personnel in the adjoining region who can assist. The officer would have been in contact with the police force who cover the area and gained permission to continue the chase before they entered.
