Define nappy? Is nappy what society calls it or is it how mother nature designed it? No matter how one feels people are designed different, weither from intelligent design, or years of evolution, natural "black" hair comes from its connections to people from Africa. Science says that African hair comes from years & years of living in a hot climate, where short hair with tight curls allows air to get through making it easier to live in that enviroment. Where as having thick straight hair that's long would not be necessary, ( well... that's what I learned anyways... evolution, the need to adapt). Even though living conditions have changed, its now turned into a genetic makeup, ( or that's how I remember it in class)
Or if you believe in intelligent design like all things, not everything is the same, showing the endless creativity within people, just like fingerprints. To answer the question, "black" people's hair texture is as various as the types of flowers, like the shades from slick ebony to hues of honey that represent the shades of "black" skin. And if you can't figure out how one race can represent every shade of a brown rainbow than you'll never understand the answer.
Society says that black hair is nappy, because those who promote "unnappy" hair don't have it! I'm black & I don't wear my hair natural, but I do have other races in my ancestry that make up the difference in my hair as well as other black people. Asking if all roses are red would have been seen as comical or with just a more simple answer...No. And if you wouldn't expect a rose to always be red, why would you expect the same thing of people?
Naturally Africans have nappy hair. Usually black people who don't have nappy hair is because they are mixed.
