Do any police agencies use 50 caliber rifles?

NO they use m24s and some old m21s. Also semiauto m16(ar15)s and handguns. SWAT uses mp5&7s and some submachineguns and m24s but i dont think they use ANYTHING CLOSE to a 50cal... that would be way too powerful. An Iraqi insurgent got shot with a barrett 50cal and his head split into three pieces. I dont think the police agencies are going to consider that as even an option. Hope it helped :)

Have to disagree- some SWAT personnel use the .50 cal. Mr. Barrett, the CEO of the Barrett rifle company, has refused to sell or service any of his rifles by any govt. agency in the state of California, due to California banning the .50 Barrett.
