Electricity from a power company includes the following costs:

1. Installation charges for connection and integrity testing.

Business fees are higher than residential fees (for more complex needs).

2. Residential kilowatt-hour rates have averaged $0.10 across the USA since 1990.

A 100-watt lamp running for 10 hours will cost $0.10. However, recent energy costs are likely to raise that average to $0.15 by 2010.

3. Maintenance costs which involve negligence or sabotage by electric customers can be charged in part or in full to the customers.
