Why are there so many people starving in the world?

The main cause of starvation is the economy. People who are poor can not afford to buy enough food.

Another cause is the scarcity of food. This can be caused by crop failure, problems with food distribution, oppressive government policies, war, or population imbalance (too many people for the amount of food produced/available).

Disease is another cause of starvation. People who are ill or in poor health are not able to eat enough and may have problems obtaining enough food.
