After two weeks of rainy weather and no chemical treatments the in ground pool is consumed with black algae literally pitch black from the surface For ease of treatment should we drain the pool?
Sugest you have a talk with your poolshop before you do anything I have never seen a black algae contamination as bad as you describe. IE it may not be black algae.
