Thomas Holliday Hicks (born September 2, 1798 in East New Market, Maryland; died February 14, 1865 in Washington DC) succeeded Thomas W. Ligon as the thirty-first Governor of Maryland, serving between January 13, 1858 and January 8, 1862, including the whole of 1860.
