Menkaure was an ancient Egyptian pharaoh of the Fourth Dynasty, known for being the builder of the third and smallest of the three main pyramids at Giza. His reign is estimated to have occurred around 2530–2510 BCE. Menkaure is often associated with the worship of the god Horus and is thought to have had a significant role in the development of complex burial practices and monumental architecture in ancient Egypt. His pyramid complex also included a mortuary temple and was adorned with exquisite statues and carvings.
