How to fix the Blue Connection Error Message in the Union room on a Legit copy of Pokemon heart gold?

I get that same problem, only it happens when I try to do something that requires WiFi connection to the internet. I can't do trades or battles with someone unless they're is in the room with me. It may be a problem with your DS's connectivity, but I'm not sure.
