Why did Bantu-speakers migrate south instead of north?

Bantu-speakers migrated south primarily due to a combination of environmental, agricultural, and social factors. The south offered more fertile land and favorable climates for farming, which supported their agricultural lifestyle. Additionally, northward expansion would have brought them into contact with more established and powerful populations, such as the Egyptians and other North African cultures, making southward migration a more viable option for growth and settlement.
