When do the baby barn swallows feed themselves?

Baby barn swallows typically begin to feed themselves around 20 to 25 days after hatching. At this stage, they start to practice catching insects and may flutter around the nest area, although they still rely on their parents for some food initially. As they gain more confidence and skill, they become increasingly independent and eventually leave the nest to fend for themselves.
