To successfully propagate orchids from stem cuttings, you should first select a healthy stem with at least two nodes. Cut the stem just below a node and place it in a sterile medium like sphagnum moss. Keep the cutting in a warm, humid environment with indirect light. Mist the cutting regularly and ensure the medium stays moist but not waterlogged. After a few weeks, roots should start to develop, and you can transplant the cutting into a pot with orchid potting mix.
