What benefits does a hood piercing bring?

Answer 1: The idea of a well-placed hood ring (do you mean vertical or horizontal, by the way? I'm talking about horizontal) is that it the ball of the ring will rest on the clitoris, which could theoretically make sexual activity more pleasurable for the female. Vertical clitoral hood piercings are given barbell piercings, and the same principal applies, although I can't imagine the bottom ball of the barbell stays right on the clitoris as well as the ball of a captive bead ring would in a horizontal clitoral hood piercing.

Of course there are other, non-sexual benefits, and for many people it's not about the sexual benefits at all (in fact, it's pretty rude when non-pierced people think that genital piercings are purely for weird kinky sexual reasons). It simply might make a woman feel good about yourself, make her feel like her genitals are "prettier" now, etc. Piercings do not generally have functions; they're just for aesthetic appeal.
