Why did Edward vi choose Lady Jane Grey?

Edward IV who was coming close to his death had chosen Lady Jane Grey as queen, because people were desperate to prevent edward's half-sister Mary from becoming queen. people had persuaded edward to declare Mary aswell as his other half-sister Elizabeth illigitement to the throne. So Edward IV had chosen Lady Jane Grey next in line to the throne.
