What are spermatogens?

Spermatogens, or spermatogenesis, is the biological process through which male germ cells develop into mature sperm cells. This process occurs in the testes and involves several stages, including mitosis, meiOSis, and spermiogenesis. It begins with spermatogonia, which undergo divisions and differentiation to ultimately form spermatozoa. The entire process takes about 64 to 72 days in humans and is crucial for male fertility.
