First you write the formula for the area of a trapezium, either from memory or

by looking it up. Then you substitute the lengths of the sides in your trapezium

for each of the appropriate terms in the formula.

Oh, all right:

Area = 1/2 (height) x (length of base-1 plus length of base-2).
