What was the name before Costco?

Before it became Costco, the company was originally founded as Price Club in 1976 by Sol Price and his son Robert. Price Club was the first warehouse club concept, offering bulk items at discounted prices. In 1993, Price Club merged with Costco, which had been founded in 1983, and the combined company continued under the Costco name.
