What works same as Benadryl?

Medications that work similarly to Benadryl (diphenhydramine), an antihistamine, include other first-generation antihistamines such as chlorpheniramine, brompheniramine, and dimenhydrinate. These drugs also block histamine receptors and can alleviate allergy symptoms, motion sickness, and induce drowsiness. Additionally, other over-the-counter antihistamines like doxylamine may have similar effects. However, newer second-generation antihistamines, such as cetirizine or loratadine, are less sedating and have fewer side effects.
