Who was Montoya of DC comics?

Renee Montoya began her existence in DC Comics as a Gotham City police detective in the Batman story lines. She is currently (pre-New 52) the latest person to take up the guise of The Question.

I don't know if they have re-introduced her since the start of the New 52 continuity.
