What are gender equality issues?

Among many gender equality issues in the United States are:

1. Women earn less than men for doing the same kind of work.

2. Women suffer a vast majority of sexual assaults.

3. Assaults on women by spouses and partners seems to be taken less seriously by police than other types of assault. Because of this, it appears that spousal assault is reported less frequently, and prosecutions are less frequent, often because the complaint is withdrawn by the victim.
