What are the examples of Direct Evidence?

Direct evidence is evidence in the form of testimony from witnesses, documents or other tangible things, the existence of which proves a fact sought to be established by a party to a lawsuit. Examples include a weapon in a criminal trial with the accused defendant's fingerprints or DNA found on it, the testimony of a witness that they observed a defendant performing actions which constitute a breach of a contractual agreement. A document handwritten by an accused blackmailer containing a threat to divulge injurious information about someone unless that individual pays them a sum of money in exchange for a promise not to make the information public. Video showing an accused person committing a robbery at a convenience store. Testimony from an eye witness who observed a defendant's vehicle run a red light, causing an accident in which another driver was injured. In contrast to indirect, or "circumstantial" evidence, it does not require that the finder of fact make inferences about the existence of a fact, it conclusively proves the fact without the need for inference.
