Would Sagittarius and Aquarius make a good couple?

I'm a sagittarius woman dating an Aquarius man, and from what I can tell so far, the pair is quite ideal (and idealistic). Both people value intellect and individuality (even quirks) above superficial attraction or materialism. Both signs have a deep need to see their partner as a friend before a lover, and neither is hasty in demanding emotional commitment from the other, allowing the freedom that both signs crave.

Both love: spontaneous adventures, long philosophical or political conversations, independence, social circles, time to themselves, innovation / intrigue

Both dislike: premature sentimentality / professions of love, confinement, closed mindedness, conventionality

Sagittarius needs someone to appreciate his or her adventurous spirit and understand the importance of room to do as he or she pleases. She becomes bored easily and needs a partner who can hold her interests. Aquarius offers this.

Aquarius, on the other hand, loses many relationships because of his or her tendency to become "distant", which is misread. Sagittarius has the patience to accept this quirk and the spark to bring Aquarius back into the moment.

They go together quite a bit yes. E.g. both like to travel and read.

One must also remember that Aquarius is air element, and Sagittarius is fire element. Air can whip up a flame, or put it out.
