What is the meaning of the quote 'Macho doesn't prove mucho'?

Macho is Spanish. It describes a man with a particular type of attitude reflected in his behavior and dress. He a combination of the English terms: tough guy, stuffed shirt, and vain; would best fit the description. Mucho is Spanish for much. Many macho men do not have much in the way of educational, intellectual, or managerial ability, yet they can get many people in Latin America to follow them. Thus Cuba, Venezuela, and Argentina, went from being first world countries to third world countries. But they had Macho rulers lead them that way!
