Can you break the backboard in nba 2k14?

In NBA 2K14, players are unable to break the backboard during gameplay. While some previous Basketball games featured this mechanic, NBA 2K14 does not include it. Players can perform a variety of dunks and highlight plays, but shattering the backboard is not one of them.
