Do gauge earrings cause permanent holes?

depends on how big you go. i had mine at a half inch but left them out for awhile and they went back down to 2s, would have kept getting smaller if i would have left them out longer because they get tight if i don't put my earrings in for a few days. if you get big though, it is unlikely they will ever go back to normal on their own.
