Why did the anzacs attack the Turks?

Shouldn't this be obvious? : Because the ANZACs were invading their country. The ANZAC troops, along with other Allied soldiers, landed in the Dardanelles Straits to capture this strategic sea passage. The Ottoman (Turkish) Army had been preparing for such a move for a long time, and the ANZAC suffered a very large number of casualties.
