How many first ladies been divorced?

There were at least three: the first was Rachel (Mrs. Andrew) Jackson; then there was Florence (Mrs. Warren G.) Harding; and then Betty (Mrs. Gerald) Ford. It should be noted that the first two women endured ridicule and criticism for having been divorced, but by the time it came to Mrs. Ford, attitudes in society had changed and she remained very popular with most Americans.
