What are some characteristics of a nerd?

-A nerd is someone who prefers homework to TV and would rather play X-box than go on a date with Madonna

-There are a lot of things that make a 'nerd'. Here is a list of a few of the 'nerd' characteristics:

• Smart, intelligent, etc.
• Gets high marks in school
• Knows many random things that the average person would never even think of knowing

-The term "Nerd" originally came from "Neurotic", but colloquialism has turned it around into meaning someone who is generally socially inept, book-smart, and so forth.

Over the years, I have also been called geek, dork, brainiac, doc, and an assortment of things.

What I have found as I grew older, however, is that there are still "Nerds" and "Jocks", except that the jocks are now working blue-collar jobs, and the nerds are writing their paychecks.

-Some physical cues may be:

1.) How you dress.

2.) How much you talk.

3.) If you're scared to stand out.

4.) If you're scared to talk to people who never talk to you.

5.) If you have glasses. (That doesn't go with every one because my sister had glasses and she was one of the coolest ones).

-It depends what your definition of geek and nerd are.
