Why should you write an essay plan?

If you write your essay according to a plan, this may help you to restrain your tendency toward digression, and stay on topic. Personally, I write essays without using a plan. I just say what I have to say.

Writing with a plan allows you to brainstorm and helps keep you on track about the things that you want to say in your writing. Then it frees up your mind and allow you to tailor the essay to read the way that you want without forgetting anything. It helps to have a plan.
