The single best way is to get a horse chiropractor out, and they will fix the problem. Some signs are:

* travels hollow (head up high, back slumped down)

* is grumpy toward you or other horses

* won't canter, or trots funny

* bucks at the canter

* has a stiff side

* won't back up

* avoids you mounting them

* gets extremely upset being girthed

* avoids you putting the saddle on them

* keeps wanting to go home or back to the gate
