What is the transmission fluid capacity for a 1972 GMC Truck with a 400 transmission?

It depends, if the unit,convertor,lines and cooler are all dry and the unit does not have the deep pan it will hold about 12qts. If you are just changing the fluid and filter only and it's not the deep pan about 4qts will do it.
