Can a rifle be fired up to a range of 4 and half miles?

The accuracy is very suspect and it isn't likely to make it that far. But it isn't impossible. And part of it depends upon your definition of rifle. If you mean something with a rifled barrel, certainly. If you mean something carried by a single person, probably not. If memory serves me correctly, the longest shots with any type of accuracy to date have been about half that distance.
