Difference between LLD AND JD

The J.D. (Juris Doctor or Doctor of Jurisprudence) is earned upon graduation from law school. Like the M.D. or D.D.S., it is a professional degree rather than a research degree.

The LL.D. (Doctor of Laws) is an honorary degree.
